Browse vs. Suggested: Reading YouTube Traffic Sources Like a Strategist
Two of my videos show opposite traffic mixes - 57.5K Suggested vs 42.8K Browse. What each source tells you about your thumbnail, your topic and what to make next.

Open the Reach tab on any video and you get the most honest feedback YouTube will ever give you.
## Suggested-heavy videos My 115K-view video got 57.5K views from Suggested and 54K from Browse. Suggested dominance means the topic sits next to bigger channels' videos and wins the click. Lesson: make more videos on adjacent topics and keep the thumbnail style identical so the rail recognises you.
## Browse-heavy videos The 68.4K-view video flipped it: 42.8K Browse vs 21.8K Suggested. Browse means YouTube is recommending it on home feeds to people who have not searched for anything. That is a signal the channel itself is trusted - double down on upload consistency.
## The 50/50 ideal The $594 video on my other channel split exactly 50/50. Balanced sources mean the video can keep growing from both directions for months, which is why its view graph kept climbing for 300+ days.
## What to do with this 1. Suggested-heavy -> cluster: 3 more videos on neighbouring topics within 30 days. 2. Browse-heavy -> consistency: keep the schedule, do not change the format. 3. Search-heavy -> SEO: expand the title and description with the exact phrases in the comments.
Traffic sources are the cheapest research you will ever get. Read them before you script the next video. More in the case studies.
